This action game is somewhat comparable to Castlevania, though with far more humour involved. Goemon crawls around and strikes his enemies with his mighty pipe. The two player mode is pretty awesome. This password system is god-awful, though.
-------
The first of five entries in Konami's "Goemon" series for SNES, and the only one to see a western release. Up to two players control the heroes "Kid Ying" and "Doc Yang" on a humorous adventure across Japan in search of the kidnapped Princess Yuki. The game is a unique mixture of side-scrolling action with adventure elements such as item and gold collection, and features several minigames including a 3D maze and a playable level of Konami's arcade shoot-em-up "Gradius." Followed on Super Famicom by "Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu ShÅgun Magginesu." - werwe
