This is one of the less common strategy titles for the SNES. It was released as part of Koei’s Kou Shibusawa’s Historical Simulation Series and is mostly based around Genghis and Kublai Khan’s conquest of the ancient world. In the beginning, there are three scenarios available for play, with one additional scenario to be unlocked. Players have the ability to recruit up to 20 units per country, selecting from a variety of unique warrior classes, some of them only available in their native countries (i.e. one can only recruit samurai in Japan); however, merchants can bring mercenaries units for hire to your country, should you opt to stay put for awhile. Overall, gameplay is similar to the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms series, though perhaps a bit more intuitive. Fairly enjoyable if you are a fan of Koei games. - J.D. Smith Cartridge label information
