Dracula X is a pseudo-sequel to the PC-Engine classic. Though I have never played the PC-Engine version, the SNES version apparently pales in comparison. A better comparison might be with Super Castlevania IV. When you compare the gameplay, Dracula X is a big letdown. Dracula X plays a lot more like the original NES title, which means poor jump control, whipping in only the vertical dirction, and using the up button to use special weapons (there are many buttons not used on the SNES controller, Konami!). It could even be argued that the graphics aren't even as good. I suggest playing Super Castlevania IV before this one.
