Play as Team Nintendo: In a two player match, have the second player press and hold the Start button and press B. The team will change to Team Nintendo

Play as the same team: If you want to have a matchup with both teams the same in a two player match, have the second player change to Team Nintendo as above (ensuring that the cursor is over the team you want to play as). Player one must then put the cursor over player two's. When you have both cursors over the same team, have player two press the Y button. You can now play as the same team

Computer mode: If you want to have the computer control both teams, enter the following password:
