There are several known prototypes of Speedy Gonzales in Los Gatos Bandidos. The PAL version of the game was never released, but several copies of PAL prototypes exist, indicating this was under serious consideration for release. This copy was purchased by me in September 2016 off Ebay by seller jossan. He acquired the prototypes from a Norwegian game tester for Unsaco/Bersala: I am currently listing an impressive lot of prototypes, all which come from the collection of two brothers who worked at the Nintendo "hotline" in Norway back in the 1990s. These were given to them by Unsaco (now Bergsala), the official distributor of Nintendo games and merchandise in Norway, and were used to be able to give feedback on certain aspects of the game. The binary is closer to the US prototype than the final US release. Aside from slowdown as a result of the PAL format, the PAL version uses "Merrily We Roll Along" as the title screen theme song, while the US version uses "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down". I would not expect any other significant differences.
All of the PAL prototypes of Speedy Gonzales have a number on the label. This one is "04" (the highest known number is 22). On the PCB, there is a label on one of the EPROM windows that says the prototype was created on February 3, 1995 (or March 2, 1995), which is a about two weeks after the US prototypes. The cart says the ROM image is uniquely fingerprinted, so each prototype of this game may have a unique binary.
