7th Guest, The

title

One of the only known games that was known to be in development for the Snes CD, The 7th Guest would have been a demostration of the 3D and FMV capabilities of the add-on.

There is a lot of mystery behind the canceled SNES CD add-on. There are many questions as to how far along the hardware was, and what games were in active development for the system. In the April 1992 issue of Nintendo Power, there is an article on Nintendo's partnership with Philips to create a CD system. One of the featured games in the article is "Guest", which was likely the working title for The 7th Guest.

Rene Boutin, who worked at Virgin Games, says that a fully working demo of 7th Guest existed for the SNES, including FMV (full motion video).

The 7th Guest was apparently shown behind closed doors at the CES in 1992.
