blargg hardware tests

This is a set of demos written by blargg to test various aspects of the SNES harware. Unfortunately, it did not come with any documentation, so as a non-expert, I can only guess exactly what many of these test. At the very least, I am providing a list of what is there. Note that the ".smc" extension was from an old copier called the Super Magicom, and for a long time was the standard extension for Super Nintendo ROM image files.

controller strobebehavior.smc

Test the strobe behaviour of the controller.

speed_2_freezes2.smc

I'm not sure what this does, presumably it tests the startup routines of the SNES. Passes in bsnes/higan, fails in SNES9x 1.54.

IPL stands for "intial program loader". This tests it in some way.

Presumably these contains dumps of the SNES RAM in various states (i.e. these aren't SNES ROM images).
