This is another game in the Megaman series. This one is a little different because a new addition to the playable characters, Forte. Forte is also a robot that is trying to stop the forces of King who is the main enemy in the game. For your first time playing this game I would choose Forte because he is much easier to work with. He has many features that Megaman does not have such as the double jump and the slide, which combined together, makes for easier jumps. Megaman has only one thing that Forte doesn’t and that is the ability to charge up his X-Buster. This game is much like other Megaman games in that you go through the first stage and then you defeat bosses in different stages to gain access to different weapons that the bosses have. The only main difference between the other games is that you can’t challenge whoever you want at first, you must defeat one of three bosses to move on to the next boss in that column. Another thing that is much different from the older Megaman games is the graphics. They are simply amazing, and have an anime style to them. The only problem I had with this game was Megaman. I think that they made him a little weak, like not having a slide technique to use. If you have ever played these games you know how important a slide is in making a critical jump. But other than that it is a near perfect game that you should get if you like the series. - E Houser

This game has a few fan translations, though only the one by Aeon Genesis is considered complete (the other two only translate the script). The Aeon Genesis hack goes the whole nine yards, offering translations with the Japanese and English names. This game is notable as being one of the last major releases for the SFC, in 1998. It actually came out after Mega Man 8 on the PS1 and Saturn. However, it obviously was never considered to be part of the official Mega Man series, as Mega Man 9 is a completely different game recently released on the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3.
