This is another prototype that I picked up when Simon_Belmont sold off the last bits of his prototype collection earlier this year. This prototype of Super Fire Pro Wrestling 3 Final Bout is an unplayable demo, much like the prototype of Human Grand Prix II I examined earlier. Title screen. Note the addition of a copyright year.
This wrestler has a slightly different profile picture and a different special move. Also note that they changed the box containing the "Wrestler Select" text in the top left.
This wrestler (presumably based on Randy Savage) has a slightly different profile picture.
This wrestler is smiling in the final version.
This wrestler has a different hat in the final version.
This profile picture of this wrestler was changed the most.
Animal (or is it Hawk?) has some more 5 o'clock shadow in the final version.
This guy grew a beard in the final version.
The background for the wrestling matchup screen is different in the final version (they made the character black with red eyes).
In the final version, the wrestlers have an introductory pose, which doesn't happen in the demo.
The actual gameplay looks about the same between the demo and the final version.
The character creation mode looks the same as well.
So as you can see, this demo is probably based on a near final version of the game. A lot of the character portraits seem to have small changes applied to them (I didn't check them all). Other than that, not much else to write about. Here are some scans. I apologize for the odd colours - the scanner I used was not in the best of condition.
