Pagemaster, The

This alpha version of The Pagemaster was leaked onto the BBS scene in August 1994 by the group "The Accumulators". The alpha has several levels, and the main menu is basically a stage select. The two ghost house levels definitely have different layouts than their equivalents in the final version, and there are noticeable spots where there are hidden platforms. The fonts are different than the final version, as are the level opening messages. Most sound effects are missing, and the ball throwing powerup does not yet work. Most of the graphics look finalized, though. I found a bunch of debugging text messages located at 0x1D8000 in the binary. It appears that the internal header was hacked by the BBS release group, though I see no evidence of any other tampering.
