Super Valis 4 is like a halfway point between Castlvania and Ninja Gaiden.  Unfortunately, the level design isn't as interesting as either of those games.  I played through the first two levels, and there was many  points where there was pointlessly long platforms with no enemies or any items.  It is worth checking out if you like the aformentioned games.
