GoDSmurF screen01.png Mayor Haggar's daughter Jessica is kidnapped by the Mad Gear gang... wait, Deja Vu! Haven't I written this in another review named Final Fight? Well any how, in case you are not familiar with the story, after Jessica is kidnapped, the Mad Gear gang used Jessica as a bargain chip to get whatever they wanted. Haggar certainly wouldn't let them roam wild. Jessica's boyfriend Cody is taking a vacation so therefore he couldn't get back in time so here comes Guy... - 3|screen02.png 6|7/10 1|The graphics are still good at the time of its release, but certainly it didn't have the flash as its twin brother Final Fight. The in-game graphics are still detailed and misses a few frames of animations here and there just like other SNES arcade-translations. Nothing's really changed from Final Fight except that Cody is replaced by Guy. 7|8.5/10 1|The sound and music remain unchanged from Final Fight, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Afterall, if it isn't broken, why fix it? Standard smacks grunts and yells still present in the game, music sets the atmosphere nicely, overall great effects. 8|7/10 1|The gameplay also remains unchanged for the most part. There's still not a two player mode. But Guy brings a set of new moves with him. He isn't as fast as Cody but he does more damage. Guy's super move is now a vertical hurricane kick from his experiences in Street Fighter. This is Capcom's attempt at giving gamers an alternate choice to Final Fight. But after everything Capcom had done with the SNES, only one question lingers in my mind: Why can't they just include the two player mode and not sacraficing Cody for Guy? 2|screen04.png 9|7.0/10 1|By the time of this cart's release, people already experienced this game once. Guy alone could not form a reason for this game to become any "funner". The gameplay remains unchanged so does the graphics, sounds, and just about every other aspect of the game. This is a typical re-release with minor changes in a game. Although this game was never released in the U.S. (ed. note: it was a rental only release in the US), but you didn't miss much. If you want to play this game, just pop in your regular Final Fight cart and do not punch too fast with Cody, and you'll get the feeling of playing Guy. Although the game's overall is still very high simply because it's Final Fight.
