World 1

World one serves as an introduction to Yoshi's Island. It teaches you proper egg throwing , floating, and slurping techniques.

World 1-1: Make Eggs, Thow Eggs

This level presents the first major challenges in the game. The goal isn't just to finish the levels, it is also to get the highest score possible. Getting 100% in all the levels leads to special bonus levels. In the game you must collect:

Stars (30 in total):

Flowers (5 in total):

Red Coins (20 in total):

The big issue here is that the Flowers and Red Coins are hidden throughout the level, and getting hit reduces your star level. Red coins can be distinguished from regular coins by a slight reddish colour to them. You can collect stars througout the level by hitting special "?" clouds, going through midpoint gates, or by hitting certain enemies with watermelon seeds. There are also special items that allow you to increase your star level.

Another interesting thing in this level is the seed. When you hit a certain ? cloud, it will cause a flower to grow. Hop on the leaves to get up to the next level.

One thing that is prevalent in this game is the Chomp Rock. When you roll it, it will destroy enemies in its path, as well as reveal secrets and provide a stepping stone
