Aero the Acro-Bat is one of the many character based platfomer games that came out during the 16-bit era that tried to match the "cool" of Sonic the Hedgehog. This game certainly does not reach the level of greatness that the Sonic series did. From my brief play of the first two levels, I found the graphics to be mediocre, the controls awkward (especially the angled double jump that is required to kill enemies and reach high platforms), and the sound to be absolutely grating. I also hated the clown enemies that were relentless in their attack and were impossible to kill. The game is likely worth a look if you have played all of the great 16-bit platform games, but there are certainly better ones.
