This is a prototype of Jerry Boy, it is identical to final.

I won this prototype of Jerry Boy on Ebay in 2012 for about $90 from DreamTR. While it is more likely that prototypes of Japanese games will be different than final, this one is identical to the final Japanese release. The game came out in September 1991 in Japan, while the US release came out sometime in early 1992. The dates on the battery on the board postdates the Japanese release, while CIC chip postdates the US release. Obviously, it is possible that these chips were put on this particular board after the fact, but these should have been red flags that this prototype was likely final. The original auction picture was not clear enough to see these, though. I'm guessing, given the source, that this was used for evaluation by a magazine. On the back of the prototype is the partially faded "Ubisoft", perhaps providing more evidence that these chips were not originally from this board.
